Gratitude

Gratitude

I will live this day and all that’s in it. I will appreciate what has been given to me. I wake out of a warm bed and I say thank you. I have a morning cup of tea or coffee and I say thank you. I recognize that I have a safe and comfortable place to live and I appreciate it as a blessing. I have my recovery, I have my program. Today I understand that what I appreciate expands and grows, that the mere feeling of appreciation imbues my daily activities with a kind of beauty. There is so much that I can say thank you for and when I do, my experience of the life I already have changes, life seems and feels somehow richer. I notice that grace enters my life each and every day when I take the time to see and appreciate it.
I appreciate the blessings in my life
The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.
