Overview

Forgiveness is something we do for our own sanity and peace of mind. We forgive to free ourselves from the kind of rancor and resentment that eats you up on the inside. Carrying hate hurts ourselves more than the other person, we are twice wounded, once by the other person and again by ourselves as we over and over again re-feel pain and desires for revenge. I have always thought as Oscar Wilde said, “living well is the best revenge”. Forgiving ourselves and others is a way of leaving the past in the past, where it belongs. In this book I have written of the daily struggles we all encounter when moving through painful feelings that block our ability to forgive such as unprocessed hurt, anger and disappointment. One of the benefits of considering forgiveness is that it puts us in touch with these feelings that are in its way and motivates us to work through them.
